The Role:  

Reporting to the Assistant Central Kitchen Manager(or his/her delegate), the Kitchen Production Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Assist. Central Kitchen Manager in providing guidance, supervision and sets good examples for Kitchen Production Associates to follow.  He/she is also responsible for producing the assigned products based on orders received, control quality, inventory and wastage.  

 

Experience 

– 2 years to less than 3 years of work experience in supervising and control food packaging production and quality in a restaurant or food processing facility 

– 1 year to less than 2 years of prior experience in supervising 15+ people 

– Knowledge with HACCP requirements, food safety and control of supply costs and product wastage 

– 6 months to less than 1 year of experience in lifting weights constantly up to 50 lbs 

– Ability to communicate in English

Major Responsibilities: 

– Produce the correct quantity of assigned products based on orders received 

– Control product quality, inventory level and wastage 

– Supervise the Kitchen packaging processes 

– Provide guidance and supervision to Kitchen Production Associates, ensure fair distribution of work and ensure proper scheduling is done 

– Manage product food safety and ensure FIFO is strictly practiced within the department 

– Provide training to Kitchen Production Associates and provide feedback on staff performance 

– Participate in new product packaging research and development process, encourage innovations and increase efficiency 

– Order and replenish inventory as and when required 

– Responsible for the cleanliness, hygiene, equipment and tools maintenance follow up and workplace safety of the production area 

– Responsible for related HACCP / GMP monitoring records 

– Lead by example by performing duties of Kitchen Production Associates as required 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements 

– 2 years to less than 3 years of proven work experience in supervising a food processing environment, including compliance with HACCP requirements and control of supply costs and product wastage 

– 2 years to less than 3 years of proven work experience in kitchen product packing operations 

– 2 years to less than 3 years of proven work experience in managingsupervising and training employees 

– Ability to support kitchen packaging research and development, including testing, process improvement, and efficiency enhancement 

– Possess knowledge in workplace health & safety and food safety (Food Safe Certification is an asset) 

– Strong understanding of tools and equipment relevant to food production and packaging operations. 

– Demonstrate strong organizational, problem-solving and time-management skills  

– Proven ability to take initiative, demonstrate accountability and reliability. 

– Positive, proactive, and self-motivated team player.
