Job Overview
The Thomas Family is seeking a professional and dedicated Nanny to care for our 2-year-old child in our home in Springwater, ON (Simcoe County). We are looking for a reliable individual passionate about early childhood development and committed to a safe, nurturing environment. Schedule & Setting:

  • Hours: 40.00 hours per week.
  • Shifts: 2 days/week: 5:30 AM to 7:00 PM; 2 days/week: 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM; 1 day/week: 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. All shifts include unpaid meal and rest breaks. Total paid hours: 40 hours per week.
  • Work setting: Private household; rural area.
  • Accommodation: Optional live-in accommodation available at no charge. (Note: This is NOT a condition of employment).

Responsibilities (Tasks):

  • Change diapers as needed
  • Follow parents’ lead with toilet training
  • Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
  • Travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties
  • Bathe, dress and feed child
  • Discipline child according to the methods requested by the parents
  • Instruct child in personal hygiene and social development
  • Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding the child
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
  • Organize activities such as games and outings for child
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals
  • Prepare child for rest periods
  • Supervise and care for child
  • Tend to emotional well-being of child

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: At least 7 months of professional childcare experience.
  • Credentials: CPR Certificate and First Aid Certificate.
  • Security: Criminal record check, vulnerable sector check and references required.
  • Physical: Physically demanding; weight handling up to 23 kg (50 lbs) 
  • Transportation: Public transportation is not available for a 5:30 AM start in this rural area. A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle are strongly preferred.
