Humble Farmers Organic Inc. requires 1 Horticulture Labourer to provide the following duties:
Job details:
Location of work: 39419 Range Road 2.1 Lacombe County, AB T0C 0J0
Salary: $20.00/hour for 40 to 50 hours per week
Vacancies: 1 Vacancies
Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time
Start date: As soon as possible
Employment conditions: Morning, Day, Overtime Required
Tasks:
- Greenhouse cleaning
- Hand harvesting vegetables
- Mixing fertilizer
- Spray or dust plant with insecticides and fungicides
- Plant bulbs and seeds
- Participate in composting and soil preparation
- Clean and maintain tools and work areas
- Harvest, fertilize and spray crops
- Operate and maintain horticulture tools and equipment
- Perform general farm duties
- Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings
- Apply fertilizers
- Dig up wrapping root balls of trees and shrubs
- Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens
- Manually pack goods into bags and boxes or other containers
- Cut agricultural crops
Type of Crops: Tomatoes, Hugelkultur beds, Cannabis
Work site Environment: Organic Farming, Poultry and egg production, organic and regenerative farming systems, fruit and vegetable combination farming.
Work Setting: Rural area.
Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools, vegetable harvester, fertilizer applicator, ability to lift/ carry/ use backpack sprayer.
Job Requirements:
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Experience is an asset
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast- paced environment, repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, attention to detail.
Weight handling: Up to 23 kgs (50 lbs)
Personal suitability: Organized, team player, reliability, efficient interpersonal skills.
