D&A Dairies Ltd. Lacombe, AB requires 1 full-time Farm Supervisor to perform the following duties on their dairy farm:

Location: 28025 Township Road 400/ NW36-39-29-W4, Lacombe, AB, T4M 0T1

Salary: $19.44 hourly / 40 to 50 hours per week

Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time, Early morning, Evening, Day, Weekend, Overtime required

Starts as soon as possible

Job Requirements

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Supervision: 1-2 people

On site: Rural area, Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work site environment: Dusty, Noisy, Odours, Dairy, Livestock

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Large workload

Job Duties

• Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers
• Supervise milking operations to ensure work is done correctly
• Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs
• Hire and train staff
• Milk cows
• Diagnose livestock health issues, Monitoring animal health, Treat livestock health issues
• Handling animals
• Monitor the calving process
• Carry out a pasture or pen breeding programs
• Formulate feeding program and feed cows
• Maintain livestock performance records
• Maintain quality control and production records
• Maintain work records and logs
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment (Milking system (automated), Storage and silage system, Tractor, Farm truck)
• Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
• Perform general farm duties
