Job Duties:
– Prepare and cook a variety of menu items including curries, rice dishes, breads, appetizers, and grilled items
– Follow standardized recipes to ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation
– Prepare ingredients such as meats, vegetables, sauces, and spice blends
– Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is prepared safely and efficiently
– Maintain portion control and minimize food waste
– Assist during peak service periods to ensure timely food preparation
– Supervise and provide guidance to kitchen helpers when required
– Maintain inventory and inform management when supplies need replenishing
– Ensure kitchen, storage areas, and equipment are clean and organized
– Comply with all BC health, food safety, and sanitation regulations

Terms of Employment:
Permanent, Full-Time
35 hours per week

Language of Work:
English

Wage:
$37.00 per hour

Benefits:
– Staff meal provided during work shift
– 4% vacation pay as per BC Employment Standards

Skills Requirements:
– Completion of secondary school required
– Completion of a college or other program in cooking OR Minimum 3 years of commercial cooking experience required
– Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
– Knowledge of safe food handling practices
