Benefits:

– 4% of salary for vacation remuneration or 10 days of paid vacation.

Job Duties:

Prepare and present a wide variety of sushi, sashimi, specialty rolls, nigiri, and other Japanese dishes according to Sushi On’s standards.
Create and develop new sushi rolls, seasonal menu items, and specialty dishes to enhance customer experience.
Demonstrate advanced sushi preparation techniques and proper use of kitchen equipment to junior kitchen staff.
Train and supervise cooks and kitchen staff in food preparation, handling, sanitation, and presentation.
Ensure all dishes are prepared with consistent quality, portion control, and presentation standards.
Prepare customized dishes for customers with food allergies or dietary restrictions.
Monitor food quality, freshness, and inventory levels of seafood, rice, vegetables, and other ingredients.
Maintain records of food costs, inventory, consumption, and kitchen supplies.
Coordinate ordering of ingredients and arrange for kitchen equipment maintenance and repairs when required.
Assist management with recruitment, hiring, and scheduling of kitchen personnel.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment in compliance with BC health and food safety regulations.
Work efficiently during high-volume lunch and dinner service while maintaining food quality and customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements:

Education: Completion of high school is required.

Experience: Candidates should possess at least 3 to 5 years of prior experience in this particular field as a sushi cook or sushi chef.
