Café La Forêt in Burnaby, BC is looking for a Head Chef to work with our team.
Title: Head Chef
Opening: 1 position (Permanent, Full-time)
Salary: CAD 27.00 – CAD 29.00 per hour
Working Hours: At least 30 hours per week
Benefit: 4% of gross pay or 10 days of paid vacation
Location: 6848 Jubilee Avenue, Burnaby, BC V5J 4B3
Education:
- Completion of secondary school education is required.
- Cook’s trade certificate or equivalent credentials and training are required.
Work Experience:
- Several year of commercial cooking experience is required.
- Professional experience as a chef is required.
Main Duties:
- Prepare and cook complete dishes
- Supervise and direct activities of chefs, cooks and other kitchen staff
- Recruit and train staff
- Develop menu with new trend ideas and recipes
- Ensure quality of food to meet the standards
- Estimate food requirements, and food and labour costs
- Monitor the inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
