We are looking for a Cafe Manager for Sweet Gallery located at 350 Bering Avenue Etobicoke, ON M8Z 3A9, Canada.

JOB DUTIES:

• Oversee day-to-day café operations, ensuring seamless coordination between kitchen and front-of-house teams for exceptional service.

• Train, schedule, and mentor staff on kitchen experience to improve workflows, food handling, and efficiency during prep and service.

• Collaborate on developing new baked goods and seasonal offerings, using knowledge of ingredients, trends, and customer preferences.

• Maintain consistency in food quality, portioning, and presentation while fostering a welcoming atmosphere.

• Manage inventory of baking essentials (flour, sugar, dairy, etc.), minimizing waste and optimizing orders for freshness and cost-efficiency.

• Monitor sales, labour costs, and margins, identifying opportunities to streamline operations and boost profitability.

• Provide operational support during peak hours, overseeing workflow across service and kitchen areas to maintain quality, efficiency, and team coordination.

• Enforce strict food safety and cleanliness standards, particularly in shared prep spaces and baking stations.

• Maintain and troubleshoot café equipment (ovens, mixers, espresso machines) to ensure safety and functionality.

• Uphold an organized, efficient workspace balancing culinary precision with a customer-first approach.

• Foster relationships with local businesses and community organizations to increase brand presence. Organize and participate in local events to promote the café.

• Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards.

Prerequisites:

Education: Secondary School or equivalent experience

Experience & Skills:               1 year to less than 2 years of experience 

Language: English

Annual Salary: $ 56,200 to $ 59,000  for 30 to 40 Hours per week

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent

Benefits: 4 % Vacation Pay,
