skilled and experienced Full-time Restaurant Manager.

 

Conditions

  • Position: Restaurant Manager (NOC 60030)
  • Full-Time, Permanent position
  • Wage: $38.50 per hour
  • Working hours: minimum 30 hours per week
  • Ability to do shift work according to work schedule (daytime, evenings, weekends)
  • Vacation: 4 % gross salary

Job Requirements

  • Education: Completion of a college
  • Experience: 5 years or more of experience in the food service sector, including supervisory experience
  • Knowledge and experience in Japanese food and dining etiquette
  • Language: English

 

Job Duties:

Operational Planning & Direction:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the daily operations of Sushi Umi

to maintain high service standards, operational efficiency, and profitability. 

  • Establish and enforce standard operating procedures based on

authentic Japanese hospitality and modern dining standards.

Staff Management, Training & Etiquette:

  • Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and supervise front-of-house and back-of-house staff

on Japanese dining etiquette, menu knowledge, food presentation, and customer service. 

  • Set staff work schedules and monitor daily performance, effectively controlling

labor costs relative to sales volume. 

  • Guide servers to explain specialized menu items, seasonal dishes, traditional ingredient origins, and proper ways to eat specific foods (such as sushi or sashimi etiquette).

 

Inventory, Supply Chain & Cost Control:

  • Monitor revenues, analyze operating costs, and manage food and labor expenses

to achieve financial targets.

  • Manage inventory levels, including ordering specialized Japanese ingredients,

premium sushi-grade seafood, fresh produce, and Japanese beverages. 

  • Negotiate terms and pricing with suppliers and food vendors to ensure quality control

and cost-efficiency. 

 

Quality Control, Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure strict compliance with local public health regulations, food safety standards,

                    and workplace health and safety guidelines. 

  • Perform regular food safety inspections and oversee proper food handling, sanitation,

and storage techniques.

 

Customer Relations & Service:

  • Excellence Handle customer feedback, inquiries, and complaints promptly

                   and professionally to ensure high client satisfaction and retention. 

  • Plan and execute promotional strategies, seasonal menu adjustments,

       and local community outreach to build brand presence in North Vancouver.
