Location: Vancouver, BC

Employment type: Permanent, Full-time

Hours: 30–40 hours per week

Wage: $25.00 per hour

About the Position

We are seeking a caring, responsible, reliable, and organized Home Child Care Provider to care for our approximately 1.5-year-old child in our home.

The successful candidate will provide attentive, nurturing, and age-appropriate care while ensuring a safe, healthy, and positive environment for our child. The position is based in our private residence in Vancouver, BC.

We welcome applications from qualified candidates of all ages, including youth and young workers, who meet the education, experience, and other requirements of the position.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and care for our 1.5-year-old child in the employer’s home

• Provide attentive and nurturing care and tend to the child’s emotional well-being

• Change diapers and assist with toilet training as appropriate

• Bathe, dress, and feed the child

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks

• Prepare the child for naps and rest periods

• Organize age-appropriate games, activities, outings, and other developmental activities

• Encourage personal hygiene and positive social development

• Follow the parents’ instructions and preferred methods of discipline and childcare

• Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for the child

• Keep records of the child’s daily activities and relevant health information

• Accompany the family on occasional trips and assist with childcare and related household duties

• Take the child to appointments and activities as required

• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to the child

• Shop for food and household supplies as required

• Cook and assist with meal preparation

• Assume responsibility for the child and household when the parents are absent, as required

• Perform other related childcare duties as needed

Requirements

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

• 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant childcare experience

• Emergency child care First Aid and CPR certification

• Criminal record check required

• Ability to communicate effectively in English

• Patience, reliability, honesty, good judgment, organization, and strong interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a household team

• Ability to perform repetitive tasks and safely handle up to 45 kg (100 lbs), as required

• On-site position; remote work is not available
