We (Green Leaf The Indian Restaurant) are looking for a well experienced ethnic food cook for the Green Leaf The Indian Restaurant store located at 865 Upper James St #2, Hamilton, ON L9C 3A3.

Position Summary

The ethnic food cook at Green Leaf The Indian Restaurant performs a variety of duties, including prepare and cook meal products, food dishes, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards. Ethnic food Cook trains newer or less experienced kitchen staff members in all tasks and responsibilities.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
• Plan menus
• Determine size of food portions and determine size of food portions
• Estimate food requirements and costs; monitor and order supplies
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
• Manage kitchen operations

Cuisine specialty: South Indian, East Indian, Vegetarian

Personal Suitability: Flexibility, Excellent oral communication, Client focus, Team player

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year experience in food industry

Languages: English

Physical Abilities:
• Fast-paced environment, Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods, Repetitive tasks, Work under pressure, Attention to detail

Hourly Rate: $ 14.50 to $ 16.50 per Hour for 35 to 40 Hours per week

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Full time and permanent

Benefits: 4% vacation pay
