-1 vacancy
-On site
-40 hours per week (day; weekend)
-Full-time; Permanent employment
-Work site environment: Outdoors; Noisy; At heights; Dusty; Dangerous
-Work setting: Construction; Maintenance; Residential; Repair; Restoration; Service; Various locations; Urban area
-Tasks:
- Supervise workers and projects;
- Co-ordinate and schedule activities;
- Estimate costs and materials;
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed;
- Read blueprints and drawings;
- Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies;
- Instruct apprentices;
- Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites;
- Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt;
- Load, unload and transport construction materials;
- Perform routine maintenance work;
- Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs;
- Read blueprints to determine work requirements;
- Clean and pile salvaged materials;
- Assist in demolishing buildings
-Supervision: 3-4 people;
- Tilesetters; Floor covering installers; Plasterers; Drywall installers and finishers; Roofers; Shinglers; Cladders/siding installers; Window installers; Apprentices; Labourers
Job Requirements
-Languages: Bilingual (English & French)
-Related experience: 3 years to less than 5 years in construction site
-Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
-Type of heavy equipment operated: Compactor
-Equipment and machinery experience:
- Reciprocating saws; Concrete vibrators; Bushing guns; Circular saws; Grinding machine; Jackhammers; Concrete saws; Hand tools; Nail guns; Mortar and concrete mixers; Augers; Air guns; Chippers; Chain saw; Drills; Sledgehammer; Air compressors
-Valid driver's licence required; Vehicle supplied by employer
-Work conditions and physical capabilities:
- Work under pressure; Physically demanding; Hand-eye co-ordination; Attention to detail; Handling heavy loads; Repetitive tasks; Fast-paced environment; Manual dexterity; Tight deadlines; Sound discrimination
-Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
-Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots; Cellular phone
