Job Description:
Kamcraft Cabinets Ltd. is hiring two Full-time Cabinetmaker to join their team in Surrey, British Columbia as soon as possible.
Job Duties:
- Read and interpret shop drawings, sketches and customer specifications to determine cabinet dimensions, construction details and material requirements.
- Measure, mark, cut and shape cabinet panels and components according to required dimensions and specifications.
- Operate panel saws and other woodworking machinery and hand/power tools to fabricate cabinet components.
- Operate and adjust edge-banding equipment to apply and finish edges on cabinet panels and components.
- Fit, trim and join cabinet parts and subassemblies and assemble components into completed kitchen cabinet units using adhesives, clamps, screws and other appropriate fasteners.
- Select appropriate wood products, panels, hardware, fittings and tools required for cabinet fabrication and assembly.
- Install and adjust cabinet hardware and fittings, including hinges, drawer slides, handles and related components, as required.
- Sand and prepare cabinet surfaces and apply sealants, stains, varnishes, paints or other finishes, as required.
- Inspect completed cabinets for dimensions, alignment, fit, finish and conformity with drawings and customer specifications, and make necessary adjustments.
- Repair, replace or refurbish damaged cabinet parts and components returned for servicing.
- Plan cutting and use materials efficiently to minimize waste during cabinet fabrication.
Employment requirements:
• Completion of secondary school is required.
• 2-3 years of related experience is required
