Outlook Farms Ltd. near Nobleford, AB. requires 6 full-time General Farm Workers to perform the following duties on their pig farm:

Location: SW 30-10-22 W4/225061 TWP104, Nobleford, AB T0L 1S0

Salary: $18.34 hourly / 45 to 50 hours per week

Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time, Day, Weekend, Overtime required

Starts as soon as possible

Languages: English

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma

Experience: Experience an asset

On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work site environment: Hog and pig farming, Chicken & Layer poultry farming, Dusty, Hot, Noisy, Odours, Wet/damp, Dirty

Area of specialization: Swine, Poultry

Work setting: Rural area, Public transportation is not available

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently, Work under pressure, Physically demanding, Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Handling heavy loads, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Large workload, Bending, crouching, kneeling

Personal suitability: Team player, Reliability

 

Job Duties

  • Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication(s), identification of piglets, and castration
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, Blending Feed, Automated manure handling or storage system, Egg gathering system, Feeding and watering system, Tractor, Farm truck, Skidsteer, Forklift, Bulk grain or feed handling – automated, Automated environmental control equipment
  • Clean barns, barnyards and pens; Disinfect pens, barns or poultry houses
  • Detect disease and health problems in livestock and poultry, Monitoring animal health, Treat livestock health issues,
  • Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs
  • Handling pigs and poultry
  • Perform livestock feeding, Feed and tend animals,
  • Weaning
  • Set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns, pens and chicken coops
  • Select livestock for sale
  • Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
  • Perform general farm duties
