Description

We are looking for a Chef for our clients. You will be reporting to 955 Oliver Rd, Thunder Bay, ON P7B 5E1, Canada. However you may be required to work at various locations within the region.

JOB DUTIES:

 

  • Plan, organize, and oversee all food preparation and cooking activities in accordance with Aramark’s culinary standards and client requirements.

  • Lead the preparation and production of a variety of hot and cold menu items ensuring quality, consistency, and efficiency in high-volume service environments.

  • Develop and test new recipes and menu concepts by incorporating seasonal ingredients, diverse dietary requirements, and nutritional balance.

  • Supervise and coordinate kitchen teams, including cooks and support staff, ensuring effective scheduling, training, and performance monitoring.

  • Plan and adjust menus for daily operations, special events, and client-specific needs, maintaining cost control and minimizing food waste.

  • Ensure full compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and occupational health regulations, including adherence to Aramark’s SAFE and Quality Assurance (QA) programs.

  • Monitor portion control, production output, and inventory management to maintain operational efficiency and food cost targets.

  • Oversee the ordering, receiving, and proper storage of food and kitchen supplies to ensure freshness, availability, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Inspect kitchen facilities and equipment regularly, ensuring cleanliness, maintenance, and adherence to safety standards.

  • Foster a collaborative and professional kitchen culture by leading through example and maintaining composure during peak service times.
     

Prerequisites:

 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Experience & Skills: 5 years of experience in food industry

Language: English

 

Annual Salary: $62,000 per hour for 40 hours per week

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Full-time and permanent
