Location: 7515 104 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta with travel to construction sites

Salary: $33.00 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week plus overtime

S.S. Decking Ltd. is looking for 2 permanent full-time Railing Installer/Fabricators to join our team!

S.S. Decking Ltd. is an Alberta-based construction contractor specializing in the fabrication and installation of custom aluminum and steel railings, gates, stair systems, and vinyl decking systems for residential, commercial, and multi-unit construction projects throughout the Greater Edmonton area.

Our projects include new home construction, multi-family residential developments, commercial buildings, renovations, and exterior finishing projects for homeowners, builders, developers, and general contractors. Employees report to our fabrication facility and yard located at 7515 104 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta, and travel to construction sites throughout the Edmonton region.

S.S. Decking Ltd. is seeking experienced Railing Installer/Fabricators to fabricate, assemble, and install aluminum and steel railings, gates, stair components, and related exterior construction materials for residential and commercial building projects. The successful candidates will perform both shop fabrication and field installation work on active construction sites while ensuring compliance with project specifications, building requirements, safety standards, and company quality expectations.

Job Duties

The Railing Installer/Fabricator will perform the following duties:

  • Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, work orders, shop drawings, specifications, and site measurements.
  • Measure, mark, cut, shape, assemble, and fit aluminum and steel components using hand tools, power tools, and metalworking equipment.
  • Weld aluminum and steel components using MIG, TIG, and stick welding processes.
  • Fabricate custom railings, gates, stair systems, and related architectural metal products according to project requirements.
  • Load, unload, transport, and handle construction materials, fabricated components, tools, and equipment.
  • Inspect fabricated components to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
  • Install and secure railings, gates, stair components, glass panels, and related assemblies on residential and commercial construction sites.
  • Conduct on-site measurements and layout work to ensure proper fitting and installation.
  • Adjust, modify, and troubleshoot fabricated products as required during installation.
  • Work safely at construction sites while following occupational health and safety procedures and company policies.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, contractors, builders, and construction crews to ensure timely project completion.
  • Maintain tools, welding equipment, fabrication machinery, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.

Skills Required

If you possess the following skills, you will be a great fit as Railing Installer/Fabricator:

  • -Secondary school completion is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in metal fabrication, railing installation, construction, welding, or a related trade.
  • Experience welding aluminum and steel using MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques.
  • Experience reading construction drawings, blueprints, and fabrication specifications.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a construction crew.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and workmanship.

Benefits

We pay $33.00 per hour for 40 hours per week, plus overtime. After 1 year of employment, you will be eligible for medical benefits including dental care and vision care, employer pension contributions, disability coverage, and two weeks of vacation.
