Kingdom Farms Inc. near Bentley and Joffre, AB. requires 4 full-time Hog Farm Supervisors to perform the following duties on their pig farm:

Job details

Barn Locations: NE15-40-1-W5, Bentley, Alberta T0C 0J0 and SW26-39-25-W4, Lacombe, Alberta T4L 2N4

Salary: $21.00 to $23.00 hourly (depending on experience) / 40-50 hours per week

Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time, Shift, Day, Weekend, Overtime required

Starts as soon as possible

Job Requirements

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work site environment: Hog and pig farming, Dusty, Hot, Noisy, Odours, Dirty

Work setting: Rural area

Supervision: 3-4 people

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Large workload

Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication, Excellent written communication, Organized, Team player

Job Duties

·         Supervise and oversee a section of the farm as Breeding Supervisor and Farrowing Supervisor

·         Work under the Production Supervisor and contribute to the overall operations of the farm

·         Supervise and train other farm workers

·         Organize tasks to accomplish the work

·         Diagnose livestock health issues, Monitoring animal health, Treat livestock health issues

·         Handling animals

·         Marking livestock as proof of ownership

·         Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication(s), identification of piglets, and castration

·         Carry out pen breeding programs

·         Formulate feeding program

·         Maintain livestock performance records, Maintain quality control and production records, Maintain work records and logs

·         Select livestock for sale

·         Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs

·         Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment

·         Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures; Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed

.        Perform general farm duties
