Permanent, Full-time – 32 hours per week

$30.00-$36.00 per hour depending upon experience and skill evaluation.

Sorrento BC and surrounding areas
Job Duties
- The Framing Carpenter will be responsible for performing the following duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction plans.
- Measure, cut, and assemble wood, engineered wood and other framing materials.
- Build and install ICF forms for concrete foundations.
- Construct foundations, place rebar, and assist with concrete work as required.
- Frame floors, walls, roofs, and other structural components for residential and commercial buildings.
- Install floor joists, beams, roof trusses, sheathing, and subfloors.
- Ensure all framing is level, square, and built according to plans, building codes, and company quality standards.
- Load, unload, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment on site.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and provincial health and safety regulations.
- Work collaboratively with the construction crew to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
Skills Requirements
Education:
- Completion of secondary school is required.
Work Experience:
- Previous experience of 1-2 years as a carpenter/framing carpenter is required.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and blueprints.
- Experience measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing wood and other construction materials.
- Experience with residential and/or commercial construction is an asset.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work safely with hand and power tools.
- Ability to perform physically demanding construction work, including lifting and handling construction materials.
- Comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow building plans and specifications.
- Ability to supervise apprentices and other construction workers.
