Position Info:

• Position: Chef
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $28.00~$38.00/hour (depending on experience)
• Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
• Number of Positions:  1
• Work Location: #201 -4501 North Road, Burnaby, BC V3N 4R7

Job Duties:

• Prepare and cook meals, including specialty dishes.
• Develop new recipes for seasonal menus.
• Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff during food preparation.
• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and proper use of equipment to kitchen staff.
• Train team members in food preparation, cooking methods, and safe handling practices.
• Plan and update menus while ensuring all dishes meet established quality standards.
• Customize meals to accommodate food allergies or dietary restrictions.
• Oversee the recruitment and hiring process for kitchen personnel.
• Coordinate the purchasing and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
• Manage inventory and order necessary food and kitchen supplies.
• Provide guidance on cooking techniques, garnishing, and food presentation.

Job requirements:

• Experience: 2~3 years of commercial cooking experience is required
• Education: Completion of secondary school is required
• Language: English
