Job Description: Link Trucking Ltd.  is currently hiring 5 full-time, permanent Long Haul Truck Drivers to join our team as soon as possible.

 

Job Duties:

  • Operate straight or semi-trailer trucks weighing 40,000–47,000 kg with three or more axles to transport goods and materials safely over long distances in various weather and road conditions.
  • Drive individually or as part of a two-person team, depending on route distance, delivery timelines and operational requirements.
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods and other regulated materials, including acetone and liquefied gases where assigned, in accordance with applicable Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) requirements, including documentation, safety marks/placarding, safe handling, means of containment and emergency procedures.
  • Plan trip routes and delivery schedules, taking into account road conditions, border requirements, hours-of-service rules and customer delivery windows.
  • Obtain and maintain required transportation documents, including bills of lading, permits, customs/border paperwork, inspection reports and delivery records.
  • Inspect, load, unload and properly secure cargo to prevent damage, shifting or loss during transportation.
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer, and report mechanical or safety concerns to dispatch or maintenance staff.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, hours-of-service records, mileage, fuel, inspection reports, trip documents and delivery records, and communicate with dispatchers, customers and border officials as required.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs and basic vehicle maintenance as required.

 

Credentials (certificate s, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.): Class one driver license or Equivalent Heavy License with the air brake (Z) endorsement and driver’s abstract or equivalent.

 

TDG Training: Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) training is required for drivers assigned to transport dangerous goods. The employer will ensure employees are adequately trained and will issue the required TDG training certificate in accordance with applicable TDG Regulations.

 

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, bill of lading, inspection report (pre-trip. en-route, post-trip), trans-border documentation, maintenance and repair reports, trip reports.

 

Transportation/ Travel Information: Willing to travel cross-border, willing to travel for extended periods (at least 2-4 days away from home), willing to travel overnight, willing to drive as a team.
