Caregiver for a person with disabilities
The Sidhu Family is seeking a caregiver for their mother, who has a disability. This is a full-time, year-round, permanent position.
Duties:
• Provide the elderly person with companionship and personal care in the employer’s home under the direction of family members
• Complete tasks that the elderly person has difficulty performing, such as reaching, climbing stairs, and carrying household items up to 50 lbs
• Assist in feeding, if necessary
• Shop for food and household supplies related to the elderly person with disabilities
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and keep track of health and medications as prescribed by the doctor and under the supervision of family members.
• Assist with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to the elderly person with disabilities
• Perform other related duties as required.
Wages: $24.50/hr for 35 hours per week.
Work setting: Private home located near the intersection of 125th St. and 68 Ave, Surrey, BC
Required skills:
• Completion of Secondary School
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in similar positions or completion of a 6-month training program in a relevant field is required.
• Ability to communicate in English. Knowledge of Punjabi will be considered an asset.
