Description
We are looking for an experienced Ethnic Food Cook – Mexican for The Food Dudes Inc., located at 24 Carlaw Ave Toronto, ON M4M 2R7, Canada.

Job Duties:

Prepare and cook Mexican and Mexican-inspired dishes for catered events and food stations, following event-specific recipes and service requirements.

Execute high-volume preparation of proteins and vegetables used in Mexican-style dishes, including marinated meats and roasted or grilled components.

Prepare fresh accompaniments such as salsas, corn-based sides, sauces, and garnishes to support Mexican-inspired menu items.

Perform daily mise en place, including chopping, marinating, portioning, and staging ingredients for banquet and event service.

Cook and finish dishes within tight service timelines to support synchronized buffet, plated, or station-based event service.

Adjust seasoning, spice levels, and preparation methods based on client preferences, dietary requests, and event specifications.

Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards, including temperature control, allergen awareness, and cross-contamination prevention.

Monitor inventory levels for ingredients used in Mexican-style dishes and report shortages or quality concerns ahead of scheduled events.

Support large-volume catering and buffet service by preparing Mexican-inspired dishes in quantity while maintaining consistency and presentation.

Guide and assist kitchen helpers assigned to prep or service support tasks to ensure timelines and quality standards are met.
Prerequisites:
Education: Master’s Degree or equivalent experience
Experience & Skills: 5 years or more experience in the Food Industry.
Language: English
Hourly Salary: $36.00 to $38.00 for 30 to 40 Hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
