Hotel Building Maintenance Man/Woman (NOC 73201)

Description

This position is for a Hotel Building Maintenance Man/Woman to work at the Days Inn & Suites Warman at 175 Clubhouse Blvd. Warman SK, S0K4S1. The Days Inn & Suites operates using English as both the written and spoken language. Prospective applicants will need to be able communicate in English.

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for providing superior customer service by conducting themselves in a professional and friendly manner in all interactions with guests, management and co-workers while upholding the company's maintenance standards of all guest rooms, common areas and grounds at the hotel. The Maintenance Worker is under the direct supervision of the Hotel General Manager and works in conjunction with the Housekeeping Supervisor. 

Guest Service
As part of the hotel team, the Maintenance Worker will be interacting with guests and conducting work in the view of the public. Expectations include:

•  Internal Hotel Sales by positively representing and promoting the property
• Offering guest assistances whenever possible
• Work with Housekeeping Supervisor & Manager to trouble shoot and resolve escalated customer issues with property condition
• Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services
• Works with General Manger to ensure systems and procedures are in place and followed for guest safety and security

Daily, Monthly & Yearly Tasks include but are not limited to:

• Sweep, Mop, Scrub Hallway and Pool Floors
• Empty Main & Outside Hotel Garbage & Other Waste containers
• Wash Outside Windows 
• Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems
• Research, contact, quote and work with contractors for major repairs
• Perform minor repairs on appliances and equipment
• Perform safety & security checks
• Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies
• Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair
• Water and tend to outside grounds
• Clean snow and ice from walkways and reduce slippage issues
• Work with Minimal Supervision
• Troubleshoot, Adjust and Install Locks
• Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance / technical problems
• Preventive maintenance
• Repair minor plumbing issues including fixtures and systems
• Repair and Maintain Equipment

Credentials

• Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
• Provincial Pool Operators Course

Experience

• Heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems
• Equipment including but not limited to vacuums, power tools, steam cleaners
• Swimming Pool Maintenance & Cleaning
• Grounds Maintenance Equipment
