Position Info:

• Position: Early Childhood Program Supervisor
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $26.00~$36.00/hour (depending on experience)
• Working Hours: 30~40 hours/week
• Number of Positions: 1
• Work Location: 101 – 335 Carnarvon Street, New Westminster, BC V3L 1B9

Job Duties:

• Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts
• Develop and implement child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
• Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest
• Guide children the development of healthy eating, proper dressing and toilet habits
• Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
• Maintain an environment to protect health, security and well-being of children
• Co-ordinate and supervise activities of other ECE teachers, ECE assistants and volunteers
• Prepare reports for parents or supervisor regarding potential learning or behavioral problems
• Assist early childhood educators in keeping records
• Establish guidelines for behavior at the team meeting, and discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
• Maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and any community service providers working with children
• Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
• Manage inventory and order supplies and equipment when it requires

Job requirements:

• Language: English
• Experience: Experience as an Early Childhood Educator is an asset
• Education: College Certificate or diploma in early childhood education is required
• Certificate: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, ECE Certificate
