Mizu Japanese Restaurant is a casual, no-frills spot for Japanese food with tempura, bento boxes, maki sushi trays & more. We are a well respected and popular hot-spot for fast, well priced, authentic Japanese cuisine in the Kelowna area. Mizu Japanese Restaurant is looking for an Ethnic Food Cook to strengthen the current team. If you have understanding of and experience in Japanese cooking and are familiar with the typical Japanese cooking techniques, then you may be the one we are looking for.
Title of position (2 vacancies): Ethnic Food Cook
Job duties:
Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers
Oversee kitchen operations
Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
May set up and oversee buffets
May clean kitchen and work area
May plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
May hire and train kitchen staff
Specialize in preparing and cooking Japanese ethnic cuisine
This concerns full-time job offers (30 hours/week) for at least 1 year.
Wage: $17.50/hour. There are no benefits included in these job offers.
The location of the job will be in Kelowna, BC. The anticipated start date is 1 February 2021.
Requirements education/work experience: you need to have finished high-school. You also need to have either successfully completed a Culinary College Diploma or several years of commercial Japanese cooking experience. 2 positions to be filled.
