Position: Restaurant Manager
Term of Employment: Permanent, full-time
Salary: $39/hr
Hours: 40 hrs per week
Location of work: 4351 Number 3 Rd #160, Richmond, BC
Hestia Kitchen & Bar is a contemporary dining destination offering elevated dining experiences through innovative cuisine, premium beverages, catering services, takeout operations, and live entertainment events. We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee and coordinate all aspects of restaurant operations and support our continued business growth.
Job duties:
- Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the overall operations of the restaurant;
- Oversee daily front-of-house, bar, takeout, catering, and customer service operations;
- Develop and implement operational procedures to improve service quality, efficiency, and guest satisfaction;
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate restaurant staff and supervisors;
- Prepare employee work schedules and monitor labour utilization to ensure efficient operations;
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, liquor licensing, and workplace regulations;
- Address customer concerns and implement service recovery strategies when necessary;
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing activities with food, beverage, and supply vendors;
- Negotiate with suppliers and maintain effective business relationships with vendors and service providers;
- Monitor revenues, operational expenses, labour costs, and inventory costs to ensure profitability and budget compliance;
- Coordinate catering programs, special events, and live entertainment activities to support business development;
- Analyze business performance and implement strategies to increase sales, customer retention, and operational effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Completion of a college diploma in Hospitality Management, Food Service Management, Business Administration, Leadership, or a related field is required;
- Minimum three years of progressively responsible experience in restaurant or hospitality operations, including experience supervising staff and coordinating daily operations;
- Previous experience in a full-service restaurant, bar, catering, or hospitality environment is required;
- Strong leadership, team development, conflict resolution, and customer service skills;
- Demonstrated ability to manage staffing, labour scheduling, inventory, vendor relationships, and operational budgets;
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, workplace health and safety requirements, and liquor service compliance;
- Valid Certification or ability to obtain certification prior to employment;
- Experience supporting catering programs, special events, or live entertainment operations is considered a strong asset.
