Salary: $27.50 hourly / 40 hours per week

Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time, Early morning, Evening, Morning, Day, Weekend

Starts as soon as possible

Job Requirements

Languages: English

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work site environment: Beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots, Corn farming, Dusty, Hot, Noisy, Odours, Outdoors, Grain, oil and forage crop, Livestock

Work setting: Rural area

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Large workload

Area of specialization: Agricultural livestock service, Beef cattle

Supervision: 5-10 people

Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication, Organized, Team player

Job Duties

• Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers
• Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs
• Develop specific plans to prioritize
• Direct farm feed inventory activities
• Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
• Diagnose livestock health issues, Monitoring animal health, Treat livestock health issues
• Cut agricultural crops
• Handling animals
• Monitor the calving process
• Formulate feeding program, Maintain work records and logs, Maintain quality control and production records
• Maintain livestock performance records
• Select livestock for sale
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, Automated manure handling or storage system, Feeding and watering system, Storage and silage system, Tractor
• Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
• Perform general farm duties
