We are looking to fill the position of Engineering Department Manager to lead and grow our talented engineering team.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Assign engineering projects to engineers or other technical workers
- Lead the electrical engineering team in the design, testing, and implementation of energy storage systems
- Oversee project timelines, resource/budget planning, and task delegation to ensure on-time delivery of engineering milestones
- Approve electrical schematics, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), panel layouts, and wiring diagrams
- Ensure all engineering deliverables meet safety, regulatory, and quality standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product development, system integration, and site-specific customization
Communication & Collaboration
- Act as a key technical liaison with internal departments (Project Management, Sales, R&D, Manufacturing)
- Provide engineering support to customer service teams and clients as needed
- Conduct regular team meetings, design reviews, and engineering briefings
- Present technical findings and recommendations to senior leadership
Process & Documentation
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Evaluate daily operations to continuously improve engineering efficiency, cost reduction, and product performance
- Ensure proper version control and traceability of design documents
- Contribute to internal and external technical documentation, including manuals, specifications, and test protocols
- Oversee the analysis of data and information
Technical or Specialized Tasks (if applicable)
- Use tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, and simulation software for modeling and analysis
- Stay up to date on evolving electrical standards (e.g., IEEE, CSA, NEC) and incorporate them into engineering practices
- Support system testing, validation, and root cause analysis for design or field issues
- Evaluate new technologies and components for integration into future product offerings
- Provide detailed information and guidance to clients on project analysis and design Review engineering projects to approve or recommend changes
- Evaluate technical designs and engineering work
Required Qualifications
- Degree specializing in electrical engineering (Master’s or higher preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering in a leadership or supervisory role responsible for full product delivery
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership, mentorship, and team development skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks, and electrical simulation tools
- Deep understanding of low-voltage and medium-voltage power systems
- Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
Salary and Work Hours
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are 30 hours per week.
Annual salary of $102,000.00
Life insurance and medical, dental, vision care, and group benefits are also available.
Hybrid work model with some in-office presence at TROES Corp. required
Work location: 401 Bentley Street suite 3, Markham, ON L3R 9T2
Occasional travel to project sites, client locations, or suppliers may be required
May include occasional extended hours during project deadlines or critical milestones
