Position Info:

• Position: Drafting Technologist
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $37.00-$40.00/hour (depending on experience)
• Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
• Number of Positions:  2
• Work Location: 3131 Production Way, Burnaby, BC V5A 3H1

Job Duties:

• Prepare detailed engineering designs and technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software and related tools
• Develop and prepare preliminary design sketches to communicate design intent and fabrication details
• Write and compile technical specifications outlining materials, dimensions, and procedures
• Complete comprehensive documentation packages and drawing sets for review, approval, and construction purposes
• Consult with clients, engineers, and production specialists to determine product requirements and ensure design solutions meet project specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
• Estimate material quantities, labour, and associated costs to support accurate project planning
• Examine and review drawings to verify accuracy, identify errors, and ensure conformity with project specifications

Job requirements:

• Language: English
• Experience: 1-2 years of related work experience in drafting or design is required
• Education: Completion of secondary school is required
