About the Role
Highfield Park PharmaChoice is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to support daily pharmacy operations in a busy community setting. This role requires strong customer service skills, accuracy, and the ability to work within structured procedures while assisting the pharmacist and supporting efficient day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing prescriptions
- Accurately enter and maintain patient and prescription records
- Process customer transactions, billing, and insurance claims
- Receive, organize, and manage inventory and pharmacy supplies
- Provide professional and efficient service at the pharmacy counter
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment
- Follow established procedures, safety guidelines, and operational standards
Qualifications & Requirements
- Completion of secondary school required
- Post-secondary education considered an asset
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Minimum 3 years of customer service experience
- Experience working with computerized systems and cashier/POS operations
- Ability to follow pharmacy procedures, safety guidelines, and standard operating processes with attention to detail
- Comfortable working in an environment that involves prescription handling support, inventory control, and regulated workflows
- Strong accuracy, organization, and record-keeping skills
- Flexibility to work weekends, early morning shifts, and late evening shifts as operationally required
- Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to changing schedules
