Job requirements

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: Experience an asset

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Cellular phone

Security and Safety: Valid passport, Basic security clearance, Driving record check (abstract)

Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel cross-border, Willing to travel for extended periods, Drive manual transmission vehicle, Travel expenses paid by employer, Valid driver's licence, Willing to travel overnight

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Large workload, Handling heavy loads, Overtime required, Physically demanding, Sitting

Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Load and unload goods, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Receive and relay information to central dispatch, Perform emergency roadside repairs, Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption, Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes, Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle, Perform preventive maintenance

Transportation/Travel Experience: Regional, Long-haul, Provincial/territorial, National, International

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer

Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): AZ class license, Driver's License (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
