Location: SW 30-10-22 W4/225061 TWP104, Nobleford, AB T0L 1S0

Salary: $20.00 hourly / 45 to 50 hours per week

Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time, Day, Weekend, Overtime required

Starts as soon as possible

Job Requirements

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work site environment: Chicken farming, Hog and pig farming, Layer poultry farming, Dusty, Hot, Noisy, Odour

Area of specialization: Swine, Poultry

Work setting: Rural area, Public transportation is not available

Supervision: 3-4 people

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Large workload

Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication, Excellent written communication, Organized, Team player

Job Duties

·         Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers

·         Organize tasks to accomplish the work

·         Hire and train staff

·         Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs

·         Diagnose livestock health issues. Monitoring animal health, Treat livestock health issues

·         Direct farm feed inventory activities

·         Formulate feeding program

·         Handling animals

·         Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication(s), identification of             piglets, and castration

·         Carry out a pasture or pen breeding programs

·         Select livestock for sale

·         Maintain work records and logs, Maintain livestock performance records, Maintain quality control and production records

·         Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, Blending Feed, Automated manure handling or storage system, Bulk handling                  system, Egg gathering system, Feeding and watering system, Tractor, Forklift, Farm truck, Skidder

·         Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed

.          Perform general farm duties
