Job details

Location: 32278 Range Road 275 Mountain View, AB T4H 4B6

Salary: $23.00 hourly / 45 to 50 hours per week

Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time, Early morning, day, Weekend, Overtime required

Starts as soon as possible

Job Requirements

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Experience: 2 year to less than 3 years

On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work site environment: Dairy, Livestock, Dusty, Hot, Noisy, Odours, Outdoors

Area of specialization: Dairy cattle

Work setting: Rural area

Supervision: 3-4 people

Equipment and machinery experience: Feeding and watering system, Milking system (automated), tractor, Skid steer.

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast- paced environment, physically demanding, attention to detail, large workload

Personal suitability: Organized, Team player

 

Job Duties

  • Diagnose livestock health issues
  • Handling animals
  • Monitor the calving process
  • Monitoring animal health
  • Supervise milking operations to ensure work is done correctly Treat livestock health issues
  • Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed Formulate feeding program
  • Maintain livestock performance records
  • Maintain quality control and production records
  • Maintain work records and logs
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
  • Milk cows
  • Perform general farm duties
