Are you passionate about cooking? Kochin Kitchen is looking for 2 (Two) permanent full time Cooks who could join immediately. The following are the requirements for the job.
Location: 271 Dalhousie Street Ottawa, ON K1N 7E5
Anticipated Start date: As soon as possible
Compensation: $19 per hour
Work hours: 30 hours/week

Job duties and responsibilities
⦁ Prepare and cook authentic Kerala dishes including Idly, Sambar, Kappa, ethnic Kerala breads and Beef Fry (Kerala spices).
⦁ Prepare traditional Kerala Sadya, parotta, Dosa and other South Indian dishes & gravies and well versed in preparing complete meals using Kerala spices.
⦁ Supervise the kitchens helpers and schedule their work shifts.
⦁ Oversee kitchen operations
⦁ Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
⦁ Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
⦁ Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils
⦁ Follow recipes and cooking procedures to ensure quality products are served
⦁ Read food order slips or receive verbal instructions as to food required by patron and prepare and cook food according to instructions
⦁ Weighs, measures and mix ingredients according to company recipes and using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
⦁ Estimate expected food consumption; procure food from storage or suppliers
Skill requirements
⦁ Education: Completion of secondary school
⦁ Work experience: 1-2 years of experience
⦁ Ability and experience to prepare quality variety dishes in the stipulated time
⦁ Ability to work under pressure
⦁ High standards of cleanliness and hygiene
⦁ Ability to manage multiple tasks
