Job Description – Child Caregiver (Private Home)

The Child Caregiver will provide attentive, nurturing, and responsible care for the child in the employer’s private household. The caregiver will ensure the child’s physical, emotional, and social well-being while maintaining a safe and healthy home environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Supervise and care for the child at the employer’s residence.

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks.

• Organize age-appropriate learning activities, playtime, and educational games.

• Assist the child with daily routines, including dressing, hygiene, and rest times.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for the child.

• Tend to the emotional well-being of the child and support their social development.

• Accompany the child to appointments, activities, or school as required.

• Perform light housekeeping duties related to the child (laundry, tidying play areas, cleaning dishes used by the child).

• Follow the parents’ instructions regarding routines, health, safety, and discipline.

Salary & Hours:

• Wage: $20.00 per hour

• Hours: 30–35 hours per week

• Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time

• Schedule: Morning and Day shifts; starts as soon as possible

• Work Location: On-site at employer’s residence in West St. Paul, MB (no remote work)
