Modo Sushi Ltd. dba Sushi Modo in Burnaby, BC is looking for a skilled and experienced Full-time, Permanent Chef.

Conditions:

• Position: Chef (NOC 6321)
• Full-Time, Permanent position, 40 hours per week (8 hours/day, 5 days per week)
• Wage: $24.00 per hour  
• Ability to do shift work (daytime, evenings, weekends and holidays)
• Vacation: 10 days paid holidays per year or 4% gross salary
• Positions Available: 1

Requirements:

• Education: Completion of a secondary school
• Experience: 3 years or more of experience in commercial cooking experience
• Language: English

Job Duties:

• Prepare and cook cuisine from the menu such as assorted sashimi, aburi specials, maki sushi & roll, special rolls and combination.
• Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
• Handle raw fish and make fish fillets
• Hire, train, and supervise cooks and other food preparation workers
• Create new recipes and determine how to present the food
• Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
• Determine size of food portions
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
