Cashier – New Avenue Hotel



New Avenue Hotel is seeking a Cashier to support our front-of-house operations and deliver friendly, efficient service to our guests.



Responsibilities:

• Operate the cash register and accurately process cash, credit, debit, and cheque payments.

• Count and reconcile cash and sales at the end of each shift to ensure accuracy.

• Welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner, assisting with purchases or inquiries.

• Handle take-out orders and reservations efficiently and with attention to detail.

• Restock shelves, beverage coolers, and display areas to maintain product availability.

• Keep the checkout counter and surrounding area clean, organized, and presentable at all times.

• Participate in promotional campaigns or in-house specials by providing information to customers.

• Verify customer age when selling restricted items such as lottery tickets, alcohol, or tobacco.

• Provide accurate information about hotel amenities, services, and promotions when requested.

• Handle returns, exchanges, or voided transactions following company policy.

• Assist with inventory counts and report low stock or discrepancies to the supervisor.

• Maintain records of transactions, receipts, and cash reports for management review.

• Support other team members during busy periods to ensure smooth daily operations.



Qualification

• Completion of Secondary School

• On-the-job training will be provided. Experience will be considered an asset

• Must be able to communicate in English.



Wage: $16.00/ hour for 40 hours/ week
