Wage: $40.50 per hour. 35 hours per week.

Job Summary

Dr. Ma's Laboratories is seeking an Analytical Chemist to join our team in Surrey, BC. The successful candidate will conduct chemical analysis, testing, and quality control in support of laboratory operations, working closely with other chemists, technicians, and laboratory staff to ensure accurate, reliable, and compliant results.

Duties and Responsibilities

•     Analyze, test, and characterize chemical and/or biochemical compounds and samples using HPLC and other standard laboratory instrumentation and analytical methods

•     Develop, validate, and apply analytical methods and quality control procedures for raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products

•     Prepare and standardize reagents, solutions, and samples for testing

•     Interpret and evaluate analytical data, and prepare clear, accurate laboratory reports and documentation

•     Ensure all testing is performed in accordance with established laboratory protocols, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements

•     Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation

•     Maintain accurate records, including sample logs, test results, and standard operating procedures

•     Collaborate with laboratory colleagues and management on method development and continuous improvement of testing processes

•     Follow all applicable laboratory safety, chemical handling, and waste disposal procedures

Employment Requirements

•     Bachelor's degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field is required

•     Previous laboratory experience, including analytical testing, quality control, method development, and technical documentation, is preferred.

•     Hands-on experience with HPLC, including sample preparation, instrument operation, data analysis, troubleshooting, and method development or validation, is required

•     Experience preparing laboratory documentation, including SOPs, analytical methods, validation protocols, reports, and quality records, is required

•     Strong attention to detail, accurate record-keeping, and written communication skills

•     Membership with a professional chemistry association, such as the Association of the Chemical Profession of British Columbia (ACPBC), is an asset but is not required.

•     Excellent communication skills in English
