Salary:

Starting at $19.19/hour (up to $24.42/hour pending experience), 40hours/week, benefits as per collective agreement, medical extended health / dental / vision / disability / life insurance benefits, RRSP contribution program after 1 year of employment, 2 weeks vacation after 1 year of service at the rate of 4% of vacation pay.

Job Description:

You will be responsible for processing & packaging of various different pork products on a processing & production line. This includes but is not limited to assisting butchers, stunning, shackling, removing leaf lard (manually), washing carcasses, weighing carcasses, bagging, wrapping, boxing, operating packaging machines & equipment, including feeding skinning machine, and assisting meat cutters. You will transport raw materials, finished products & packaging materials throughout plant manually, or with powered equipment. You may measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing & grinding machines or mobile tanks. You will feed and unload meat products into processing machines, stock coolers and freezers & maintain inventories, clean work areas & equipment, check products & packaging for basic quality defects, assist butchers, meatcutters and shippers in performing their duties. Also, must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, think, and react quickly, & have the ability to work independently with little supervision.

Up to 23 kg (50 lb)

Work Setting:

Meat processing and packing plant, refrigerated production area/hot processing floor

Required Skills:

English knowledge is required. Experience is an asset, but not required. Training will beprovided. Food safety knowledge is an asset.

Specific Skills:

Processing livestock and packaging products experience is an asset

Own Tools/Equipment:

Steel-toe safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

Repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching

Work Site Environment:

Noisy, odours, hot, cold
