Position: Early Childhood Educator IT

Working Hours: 30hrs per week

Wage: $23.50 per plus WE at a rate of $6.00/worked hour

Benefits: Medical benefits after 3 months of probation

Happy Kids Castle Daycare believes that the early years are an important period in a child’s

development.  A time where they learn social skills, respect for themselves and others, and develop concepts through guidance and teaching. We recognize that every child is competent and capable.  We help each child recognize this in themselves through ongoing encouragement and role modeling. Main duties:

  • Plan and develop programs and activities suitable for children at an age between 0 ~ 5 years old
  • Design and create learning programs to meet children’s physical, intellectual, social, cultural, creative, and emotional needs
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
  • Maintain and update individual records of children handled taking note of the program’s positive and negative results
  • Develop listening, comprehensive skills using approved subjects in storytelling, role playing, games, music, and art activities
  • Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and washroom habits
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues and community service providers working with children
  • Regularly communicate with parents and guardians regarding their children’s development needs and learning process

 

Education & Requirements:

  • Completion of post-secondary education with a two-to-four-year program in Early Childhood Education and/or relevant education, experience, and training
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) & ECE-IT Certificate
  • Current First Aid Certificate and Criminal Record Check required
  • Enthusiastic with children
  • Excellent and effective communication skills in verbal and written Strong work ethic
