vegetable farm worker

Sandhu Produce Growers Ltd is Hiring 12 farm workers­.

This is a full time permanent position @ $17.85 /hour for 30- 40 hours a week

Start date of employment (approx.): as soon as possible

NO specific education , NO previous experience is required.

No specific language requirements. Basic farm knowledge, familiarity with farm equipment and machinery will be an asset.

The candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Accommodation will be provided at $ 30/week.

Job locations: Main location is 3542 Marion Road Abbotsford, British Columbia-V3G 2J6 but have multiple locations around for farming.

Job duties include



Field work, soil preparation, plowing, pruning, planting, weeding, cultivating, harvesting, washing, sorting, packing of field & greenhouse vegetables.

Examining produce for quality and prepare for market.

To monitor irrigation & the soil moisture as per produce requirements, and set the greenhouse temperatures and ether moisture level as per the requirements.

detecting disease and ether problems in crops and vegetables

Monitoring produce vegetables for any weeds & pests.

lnforming farmers or farm manager of vegetables growth and progress.



Working & physical capabilities:

ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work long hours tor with repetitive tasks.

Ability to work in various environments cold, harsh winter damp & dust. Ability to handle heavy workloads required.

Fast-paced environment, physically demanding, combination of walking, bending, standing tor long periods of time, lifting, repetitive, excellent eye hand coordination, attention to detail.
