Description

We are looking for a well experienced Sous Chef for a well-known catering firm “10tation Event Catering” located at 232 Norseman Street, Etobicoke ON, M8Z 2R4 Canada.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Coordinate kitchen operations during large-scale events, ensuring smooth flow from prep to service.

  • Execute catering menus for weddings, corporate events, and private functions with precision and consistency.

  • Guide cooks and prep staff through event-specific tasks, maintaining high standards under time constraints.

  • Curate seasonal, themed, and customized menus in collaboration with the culinary team to meet client expectations.

  • Oversee ingredient preparation, inventory rotation, and quality control for event production.

  • Facilitate plated, buffet, and boxed meal assembly while upholding presentation and taste standards.

  • Implement portion control and minimize waste while aligning with budgetary targets.

  • Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and allergen protocols are rigorously followed during events.

  • Train staff in efficient event kitchen workflows, equipment handling, and plating techniques.

  • Support supplier communications and ingredient sourcing to guarantee premium, seasonal, and artisanal product availability.

  • Monitor team performance, providing mentorship and constructive feedback during high-pressure events.

  • Assist in planning and executing special catering activations, pop-ups, and client-requested menu innovations.


 

Prerequisites:

 

Education: Secondary (high school) diploma or equivalent.

Experience & Skills: 3 years to less than 5 years in the food industry.

Language: English

 

Hourly Rate:$36.00 – $38.00  per hour, based on a 30–44 hour work week.

 

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent

Benefits: 4 % Vacation Pay,
