Sous Chef
We are looking for well-experienced Sous Chef for a well-known restaurant “Browns Socialhouse”, located at #101- 1180 Columbia St W, Kamloops, BC, V2C 6R6, Canada. As well as various locations in the region.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistent execution of Browns Socialhouse menu and brand standards across all service periods.

Act as the primary operational lead during service, coordinating stations, addressing issues in real time, and maintaining smooth kitchen flow in a high-volume environment.

Supervise cooks and kitchen staff by assigning responsibilities, monitoring performance, and enforcing standardized recipes, procedures, and quality controls.

Oversee preparation and execution of core menu items and signature dishes, ensuring accuracy, timing, and presentation aligned with company expectations.

Train, coach, and mentor kitchen staff on preparation techniques, portion control, plating standards, and safe food handling to ensure consistency across shifts.

Assist with menu execution and seasonal feature rollouts, providing operational feedback and supporting recipe testing and implementation.

Monitor inventory levels, verify product quality, and coordinate ordering to support continuous operations and responsible cost management.

Ensure compliance with Canadian food safety, sanitation, and workplace health regulations, including HACCP standards and provincial requirements.

Support group dining, catering requests, and promotional features by coordinating kitchen execution and menu adaptations as required.

Assist the Head Chef with labour planning, waste reduction initiatives, and food cost controls to meet operational and financial targets.
Prerequisites:
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience & Skills: 5 years or more of experience in the food industry.
Language English
Hourly Rate: $37.00 to $38.00 per hour for 30 to 40 Hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
Benefits: 4 % Vacation Pay
