Naji Fine Foods Limited is seeking a Restaurant Manager for its Charger Burger location on Pleasant Street in Dartmouth. The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the restaurant, including staff supervision, service standards, scheduling, inventory, cost controls and customer service.

Compensation and schedule

Wage: $21.95 to $23.20 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week, with a minimum of 30 hours guaranteed.
Schedule: Variable shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays
Pay frequency: Bi-weekly
Overtime: Paid in accordance with applicable Nova Scotia Labour Standards
Vacation and statutory holiday entitlements: provided in accordance with Nova Scotia Labour Standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage the restaurant's daily operations and ensure efficient service during busy periods.
• Prepare staff schedules and oversee a team of approximately 3 to 4 employees.
• Participate in recruiting, onboarding and training employees and monitor staff performance.
• Monitor labour costs, food costs, sales, cash controls, deposits and inventory against operating targets.
• Oversee food and supply ordering, inventory levels, waste controls and relationships with suppliers.
• Ensure food safety, sanitation, halal-handling procedures and workplace health and safety requirements are followed.
• Monitor customer service standards, respond to customer concerns and address operational issues affecting dine-in, takeout and delivery orders.
• Coordinate routine equipment maintenance and communicate with service providers when repairs are required.
• Prepare and review operating reports, including labour, food-cost and inventory information.
• Coordinate restaurant promotions and limited-time offers in accordance with company operating standards.

Qualifications

Completion of a high school diploma.

Minimum 3 years of experience in restaurant or food-service operations, including supervisory or management experience.

Food Handler Certificate. WHMIS training is an asset.

Comfortable using point-of-sale systems, online delivery platforms and basic spreadsheet applications.

Work conditions and personal suitability

This position is in a fast-paced restaurant environment and requires extended periods of standing and the ability to lift up to 20 kg.

The successful candidate should demonstrate leadership, sound judgement, problem-solving ability, reliability, attention to detail and a strong customer-service orientation.
