Job description:

Position: Painter

Number of positions available: 1

Work Hours: 40 hours per week

Wage: $27.00/hour

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Start date: ASAP

Vacation time: As per law

Work Location: Various job locations in Victoria.

Language of work: English

Key duties and Responsibilities

• Preparing all nearby furnishing before and during every day painting job, including carpets, cabinetry, outlet covers, lighting fixtures and landscaping.
• Applying paint or if required other materials in order to fulfill the customers’ needs.
• Make the proper cleaning preparation to have the surfaces ready to paint.
• Removing old wallpaper and paint.
• Repairing cracks and holes in walls.
• Mixing and thinning paint to obtain desired color and texture.
• Measuring, cutting, and applying wallpaper or fabric to walls.
• Propose customers about the different selections of color as well as the different types of wall coverings.
• Calculating the number of materials and time required for projects.
• Ready to provide cost estimates if required from clients.
• Reading specification to determine required materials.
• Match paint samples for touch-ups and other small projects.
• Touch ups.
• Complete projects according to work orders in a timely and professional fashion.
• Practice self-supervision on small jobs and ensure completion of each project in an efficient, timely manner.

Requirements for the job

• More than 6 months of previous work experience in the trade
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to distinguish between colors.
• Hand-eye coordination
• Physical demanding: bending crouching and kneeling, ability to lift up to 23 kg
• Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Safety glasses.
