The TCS Group is a reputable provider of scaffolding solutions, and a manufacturer of aluminum equipment and steel pre-engineered buildings and structural steel and miscellaneous metals to the construction industry.

With 2 locations including a head office in Newmarket Ontario, the TCS Group has been providing services since 2010 and is proudly recognized as a provider of custom manufacturing and scaffolding solutions in the region.

The TCS Group is currently looking for an MBS (CAD) Detailer to join their team based out of East Gwillimbury Ontario.  The MBS Detailer will be mainly responsible to prepare manufacturing designs, 3D models, drawings and related technical information, in support of their pre-engineered projects department.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Develop and prepare designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets and other data.

·       Create 3D models using MBS software, to provide digital representations of physical and functional aspects of structures.

·       Utilize specialized software (e.g.  MBS) to create detailed models (3D and otherwise) of metal building structures tailored for “Building in a Box” pre-engineered projects.

·       Utilize your MBS experience to properly set up the MBS software to ensure it is being used efficiently and effectively to create all drawings and including pricing estimates.

·       Provide pricing estimates for customers in a timely manner for all "Building in a Box” projects by gathering specifications from the customer and completing all the requirements

·       Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets.

·       Interpret project specifications and requirements to accurately represent building designs.

·       Develop precise structural models of metal buildings, focusing on modular and prefabricated components suitable for “Building in a Box” applications.

·       Generate fabrication and erection drawings from 3D models, including plans, elevations, and details specific to "Building in a Box” projects.

·       Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure the seamless production of components.

·       Perform material takeoffs from models to estimate quantities for prefabricated components.

·       Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure accurate material orders and inventory management.

·       Conduct thorough quality checks on models and drawings to ensure compliance with Pre-Engineered Building A660 standards and ISO 9001:2015, and all legislative standards and requirement specifications.

·       Address any errors or discrepancies promptly to maintain project timelines.

·       Collaborate closely with Tekla detailers, architects, engineers, and project managers to develop customized solutions for Pre-Engineered Building projects.

·       Communicate effectively with stakeholders to coordinate design changes and modifications.

·       Maintain organized documentation of models, drawings, and project revisions specific to "Building in a Box” applications.

·       Prepare reports and documentation for project meetings and presentations.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

·       Completion of a two- to three-year college program in engineering design and drafting technology is preferred but not required.

·       Minimum 1 year of supervised MBS work experience is required.

·       Working knowledge of Tekla software is an asset

·       Work independently without close supervision

·       Ability to prioritize, organize and plan work.

·       Ability to interact with people effectively and in a professional manner.

·       Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
