Long Haul Team Truck Driver – Specialized Transport (Langley)

Redstar Transport Ltd is looking to add 6 long haul truck drivers to their specialized hauling division.  This division is responsible for hauling oversized and overweight loads using low bed and double drops trailers alongside the direction of pilot cars.  

Compensation: $36.89 per hour

Employment type: Full-time; 50 hours per week

Experience level: 3 to 5 years of experience required

Must be willing to travel overnight, for extended periods of time and possibility of cross-border transportation

Responsibilities
Tasks
Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
Load and unload goods
Operate and drive straight flat bed and B-train trucks

Operate extended length tractor-trailer combination
Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
Perform brake adjustments
Perform emergency roadside repairs
Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
Receive and relay information to central dispatch
Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
