Job Description:  Westcoast Insulation Ltd. is hiring 1 full-time permanent Insulator.

 

Job Duties:

  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine insulation requirements, materials, and installation methods.
  • Measure, cut, and shape insulation materials using hand and power tools to fit around structures, studs, joists, and obstacles.
  • Install insulation using methods such as spraying, blowing, pasting, strapping, taping, or fastening to secure it in place.
  • Apply protective barriers, including vapor barriers, waterproofing, or fire-stopping materials, to insulate and safeguard surfaces.
  • Remove and safely dispose of old insulation.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and building codes, including energy efficiency and fire regulations.
  • Specialize in specific types of insulation (e.g., industrial, soundproofing, or fireproofing) or alternate between commercial and residential projects.
  • Maintain and update skills to work with new insulation materials, techniques, and tools efficiently.
  • Apply spray foam insulation using specialized equipment to seal air gaps in walls, ceilings, attics, and other areas.
  • Prepare work areas and monitor temperature and surface conditions to ensure proper foam adhesion and curing.
  • Follow spray foam–specific safety procedures, including wearing protective equipment and installing required fire or safety barriers.

 

Job requirements:

  • Completion of High school is must
  • Completion of a three- to four-year apprenticeship program

             Or

              2 to 3 years of related experience is required
