Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Wage: $26 CAD – $30 CAD
Work Schedule: 8AM to 5PM, 8-hour shifts with a 30-minute paid Lunch Break
Benefits: 6 weeks Paid Vacation a year. Health benefits after one year of employment.
About the Role
Little Llama Montessori Academy is a licensed childcare centre offering care and education for children aged 0 to 3. We are looking for a qualified and caring Early Childhood Educator to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
-Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
-Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest, provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
-Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
-Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
-Knowledge of Daycare Services Act
-Knowledge of licensing regulations
-Establish guidelines for behaviour
-Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
-Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
-Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
-Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers
-Order supplies and equipment
-Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
-Attend staff meetings to discuss the progress and problems of children
-Bathe, feed, and diaper infants and toddlers
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (required)
Valid ECE license (required)
First Aid & CPR certification (required)
Clear criminal record check (required)
Experience as an asset
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Must love children and be responsible
