Job Title: Home Child Care Provider (NOC: 4411)

Employer: Kandola Private Household

Location: Victoria, BC

Salary: $16/hr for 32 hrs per week

Vacancy: 1 vacancy

Employment groups to include: persons with disabilities, indigenous, newcomers to Canada, student, and vulnerable youth

Terms of employment: Term or contract/ full time (24 months)

Start Date: as soon as possible

Job Requirements:

Languages

·        English

Education

·        Minimum: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent related experience

·        Caregiver certificate or any related health care field

Experience

·        At least 2-3 years of work experience taking care of children or any related work experience.

Age of Children needed care:

·        1- and 11-year-old

Duties:

·        Take care and supervise the children when parents are not around.

·        Bathe, dress and feed the children

·        Prepare and serve nutritious meals

·        Oversee children’s activities such as meals and rest periods

·        Do housekeeping

·        Tend to emotional well-being of children when parents are not around

·        Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home

·        Provide companionship to the children

·        Keep records of daily activities and health information

Work Conditions

·        Repetitive tasks, Work under pressure, physically demanding, Overtime maybe required

Physical Capabilities:

·        Must be physically and emotionally fit

·        Must be 21 years or older

Work Location Information

·        Work in employer's/client's home

Qualities:

·        We are looking for someone who takes initiative, is organized, flexible, reliable, client-focused and a team player.

·        We need someone with excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.

·        Excellent rapport with children

·        Able to communicate effectively with children
